In May 2009 Lyn won the Regional Fine Art Trade Guild Awards with her 'A Day at the Seaside' entry. The competition enabled framers to frame anything suited to the above title, and Lyn came up with a 3D picture made entirely from Mountboard. Her first award was in respect of the whole framed piece and her second award was in respect of the Mountcutting, in which she incorporated kite corners to reflect the theme.
She felt the title of the competition was very nostalgic and her view is meant to represent an old-fashioned memory of childhood holidays, including beach huts, Punch & Judy shows, sandcastles and kite flying. A double thickness frame was made to accommodate the depth of the work which was approximately 10cms.
